NYSC: Done and Dusted!!!-The Story of a Photographer Turned Photojournalist
Akintunde T. Taiwo (Dee-Why Pumpy)
I just want to say Baba God Esheeeeeeeeeee ooo!!!
Thank You Almighty Allah!!!

This is a dream come to pass; but life just begins after NYSC. I’m so happy. I’m so grateful to God Almighty! I officially passed out of the NYSC Scheme! I really thank God for seeing me through from a Photographer turned a professional Photojournalist by dint of being a graduate of Mass Communication (Money Making+News Making) to registering for NYSC to starting the programme.

I remember when this journey started, some of our colleagues perished in an auto crash on their way to their state of deployment. And I use this moment to remember those who fell on the journey from bomb blasts to election brouhaha and to personal health issues and illnesses. I pray Almighty Allah will comfort their families. A whole lot has happened over these few months, but God has brought us to the end, may His Mighty name be praised.

I thank Allah for my friends, my colleagues and every Batch ‘A’ 2016 Stream ‘I’ corps members. I don’t know about you all but it wasn’t an easy journey. From the drama in Plateau state during registration, to the never ending queues on the Mangu Orientation Camp, to CDS days, sun bathing to challenges faced during my Personal CDS Project to Final Clearance ordeal, hmm!!!, it was indeed Service to my Fatherland which I really enjoyed as a Service to Humanity. But through these tick and thins, the Almighty God ‘Gat Ma Back’.

Thanks to all my amazing friends and colleagues at Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos Campus (PPA) who made working so much fun. Thanks to my bosses who built me up in more ways than I can mention. Plateau is truly ‘A Home of Peace and Tourism’ + Amazing/Wonderful People!!! Thanks to my Mother who have been my rock through it all. Thanks to my brothers and my twin sister who never turned their backs on me. Thanks to my dearest friends who helped me in too many ways for me to describe on here. Thanks to Dee-Why Pumpy Photography customers: you mean so much to me. Thanks to everyone!
Here are some of my NYSC pictures so that my own story will not turn out to be like that of some of our ‘OGAs @ the Top’ (YES!!! I Graduate Before I Went For National Service)….
