In his reaction to his wife’s BBC interview, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said Aisha belonged in his kitchen, and did not have any right to question his leadership.

President Buhari said during a joint press briefing with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, that he had superior knowledge over his wife, the Associated Press reported.

The President responded, “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.

“So I claim superior knowledge over her and the rest of the opposition, because in the end I have succeeded. It’s not easy to satisfy the whole Nigerian opposition parties or to participate in the government.”

Commenting on President Buhari’s response that his wife belonged in the kitchen, the publisher of Ovation magazine, Chief Dele Momodu, said it was “disgraceful” for the President to have said it.

“If the President really said that his wife belongs in his kitchen and his bedroom and his other bedroom, it is highly disgraceful,” he said.

Ebola Strikes Again in Congo: 15 Dead as Fresh Outbreak Confirmed

According to the country’s Ministry of Health, the outbreak was detected in Kasai Province, where 28 suspected cases have been recorded.   By Adamu IMAM Bauchi  In a dramatic twist to Bauchi’s anti-corruption drive, the Bauchi State High Court today ordered the immediate remand of the State’s former Accountant-General, Sa’idu Abubakar, in prison custody. The former chief custodian of Bauchi’s finances was arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and monumental financial infractions allegedly running into billions of naira. This landmark case follows a formal petition lodged by the Bauchi State Government in August 2025, accusing Abubakar and his alleged accomplices of massive embezzlement of public funds and betrayal of public trust.  The matter was swiftly taken up by the Nigeria Police, culminating in today’s court session. The case has been adjourned to 22nd September, 2025 for further hearing. All eyes will now be on the courtroom as one of the state’s most explosive corruption cases unfolds.
