The Bauchi State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has convened its monthly general meeting, with a strong emphasis on mobilising members for active participation in the forthcoming Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW) 2026 scheduled to hold in Kaduna.

The meeting, held on Thursday, 9 April 2026 at the NUJ Secretariat, Bauchi, was presided over by the Chapter Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Rabiu Wada. It provided a strategic platform for members to align efforts towards ensuring a coordinated, visible, and impactful presence at the Institute’s flagship national event commencing on 19 April 2026.

In his address, the Chairman underscored the significance of NPRW as a premier professional gathering, urging members—particularly those who have completed their Annual General Meeting (AGM) registration—to prioritise attendance. He highlighted the immense value of the Week in advancing professional development, strengthening networks, and contributing to national conversations on development and public relations practice.

Deliberations focused on finalising the Chapter’s delegation, with attention given to registered members and prospective inductees expected to participate in the induction ceremony during the Week. The meeting also considered key administrative matters, including the adoption of minutes from the previous meeting, review of matters arising, and collection of monthly dues. New members were formally introduced, further reinforcing the Chapter’s growing and dynamic membership base.

In a show of unity and professional camaraderie, members expressed solidarity with colleagues facing personal challenges, including health-related issues and bereavements.

The meeting was graced by distinguished elders and leaders of the Institute, including Dr. Andee Iheme, fnipr; Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Bello, fnipr; and Council Member, Alhaji Kabir Ali Kobi, fnipr. Also in attendance were the Vice Chairman, Alh. Nazif Abba Pali, Malam Tanimu Ibrahim-Gambo, the Chapter Secretary; as well as other members of the executive and the general membership.

The Bauchi State Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to projecting a united and professional front at NPRW Kaduna 2026, as part of its broader objective of enhancing its visibility and contributions within the Institute at the national level.

The Nigerian Public Relations Week remains the flagship annual event of the Institute, bringing together practitioners, policymakers, academics, and key stakeholders to deliberate on pressing national issues and the role of public relations in driving sustainable development. The 2026 edition is scheduled to hold from 19 to 25 April in Kaduna, with registration still ongoing.
