Bauchi Governor Deepens Educational Partnership with UBEC

In a renewed effort to strengthen the education sector in Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Aisha Garba, in Abuja.

The governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Rimin Zayam, and the Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (BASUBEB), Alhaji Adamu Duguri.

The high-level meeting focused on deepening collaboration between the state and UBEC, with discussions centered on improving infrastructure in basic education schools, enhancing teacher training programs, and expanding access to quality education across the state.



Dr. Garba applauded Governor Mohammed’s proactive leadership in the education sector, describing the visit as timely and impactful. She reiterated UBEC’s commitment to supporting Bauchi State’s education development agenda through strategic partnerships and sustained intervention.

The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge by both parties to intensify efforts aimed at boosting education delivery and learning outcomes, particularly at the basic level.                     

The visit is the latest in Governor Mohammed’s ongoing drive to reposition the state’s education system for greater effectiveness and inclusivity.

The information was confirmed in a statement by Jalaludeen Usman, Information and Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Ministry of Education.

  The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has defended the invitation of Dr Zakir Naik, an Islamic cleric who has been declared wanted for alleged terrorism, to t he 10th Sheikh Usman bin Fordiyo week.  Responding to his critics at the event on Thursday, November 2, the Sultan stated that Muslims  have the right to invite their fellow brothers for interaction. He also said that the Islamic  scholar was able to educate Muslims and non-Muslims on what Islam is all about.  He said; “Islam is one every where you go.
