JCI Bauchi City Hosts Human Duties Day Celebration, Launches Documentary on Civic Responsibility

JCI Bauchi City, in collaboration with JCI Kano, JCIN Nasarawa State University, and JCIN Jos Prestige Protem, marked the 2025 International Human Duties Day with a powerful virtual event themed “Our Duty to Humanity: Voices for Responsibility” on Thursday, 10th July, 2025.

The event featured the premiere of a short documentary promoting digital civic responsibility and the Seven Pillars of Human Duties. President Akintunde Tajudeen Taiwo described the event as “a movement for youth accountability online and offline.”

Notable speakers included Dr. Ogadinma Nkem of BERI, JCI Senator Olabisi Aniso, and JCI Senator Attairu Abdullahi, who all stressed the importance of digital ethics, truth, and visionary leadership. Other remarks came from JCIN Amb. Ayodeji Akinwande, JCIN Amb. Hauwa Musa, and Human Duties Ambassador Mallam Hassan Hassan, who emphasized digital literacy and responsible content creation.

The event concluded with the re-signing of the Human Duties Petition and plans for wider outreach through community screenings and educational partnerships. This initiative aligns with SDGs 4, 16, and 17, and the JCI RISE framework, positioning JCI Bauchi City as a national leader in digital civic advocacy and ethical youth engagement.

On Sunday, 24th August 2025, JCI Bauchi City held its August General Assembly and Business Meeting with the theme “No One Left Behind: Driving Growth, Leadership, and Impact with Inclusivity.” The session, led by 2025 LO President, JCIN Amb. JUST IN: Former Bauchi Acc. General in Prison, Over Multi Billion Fraud Allegation

  By Adamu IMAM Bauchi  In a dramatic twist to Bauchi’s anti-corruption drive, the Bauchi State High Court today ordered the immediate remand of the State’s former Accountant-General, Sa’idu Abubakar, in prison custody. The former chief custodian of Bauchi’s finances was arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and monumental financial infractions allegedly running into billions of naira. This landmark case follows a formal petition lodged by the Bauchi State Government in August 2025, accusing Abubakar and his alleged accomplices of massive embezzlement of public funds and betrayal of public trust.  The matter was swiftly taken up by the Nigeria Police, culminating in today’s court session. The case has been adjourned to 22nd September, 2025 for further hearing. All eyes will now be on the courtroom as one of the state’s most explosive corruption cases unfolds.

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bauchi City recorded another milestone through the Global BizEdge Bootcamp 2025, a four-week virtual capacity-building project organized in collaboration with other chapters to empower young Africans with practical business writing and entrepreneurial skills. The initiative, held from June 1–28, 2025, was jointly implemented by JCI Garden City (Nigeria) and JCI Metro (Zimbabwe), with participation from seven JCI Local Organizations across Africa, including JCI Bauchi City, JCI Victoria Falls, JCI Diwan, JCI Premier, JCI Ota, and JCI Lagos City. The program attracted 369 participants, including over 90 non-JCI members, and focused on business planning, proposal writing, and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) drafting.
