JCI Bauchi City Hosts 2025 Digital Economy Summit, Showcases Innovation and Youth Empowerment

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bauchi City has successfully hosted the second edition of its flagship initiative, the Digital Economy Summit (DES) 2025, on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, at ASUP Hall, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation for a Digital-Driven Economy.”

The summit attracted over 500 onsite and virtual participants, including entrepreneurs, innovators, policymakers, students, and investors. The program featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, live tech demonstrations, and practical breakout sessions on digital marketing, fintech, freelancing, e-commerce, and business management.

In his remarks, JCI Bauchi City President, JCIN Amb. Tajudeen Taiwo Akintunde, emphasized technology’s role in economic transformation and urged participants to embrace networking and collaboration. The Hon. Commissioner of Information and Communication, Bauchi State, Alhaji, Usman Usman Shehu, ably represented by Alhaji Umar M. Shira, Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation, commended JCI for promoting youth empowerment and digital inclusion.

Distinguished speakers included Dr. Andee Iheme, FNIPR; Mr. Zubairu Jibril (Zee Tech Foundation); Mr. Seun Justin Onarinde (Young Leaders Network); Mujahid Ibrahim (CITAD); Mrs. Motunrayo Olasupo-Sherif (GDG Bauchi); and Hajiah Khadeejat Yahaya Aliyyu (NITDA).

Key highlights were a Startup Pitch Showcase, supported by START-UP Abuja and CADRI, and recognition awards for contributors. Organizing Chair, Rt. Hon. Aisha Adam Bappa, described DES 2025 as “a platform for collaboration, innovation, and empowerment,” reaffirming JCI Bauchi City’s commitment to digital growth and entrepreneurship.

JCI Bauchi City expressed deep appreciation to its partners and sponsors, including CADRI, START-UP Abuja, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), ASUP FPTB, Road-Runner, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), AIDCODE, BERI, Alheri-YS Foundation, Young Leaders Network, ALFO, AMITECH, EntrePlus, NAWOJ, Zee-Tech Foundation, Dee-Why Pumpy Media, and the Bauchi State Government, among others.
