JCI Bauchi City Holds 2025 Officers’ Training School to Strengthen Leadership Capacity

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bauchi City hosted its 2025 Officers’ Training School virtually on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 7:00 PM, equipping its executive team and members with essential leadership and governance skills for the year ahead.

The training, which focused on leadership development and parliamentary procedure, recorded an active participation of about 48 members.

The session was declared open by the 2025 Local President, Akintunde Tajudeen Taiwo, who emphasized the importance of structured training in building effective and impactful leaders.

“Leadership is not just about occupying a position. It’s about leading with clarity, discipline, and a sense of service,” he remarked in his welcome address.

The core session was facilitated by JCIN Amb. Segun S. Omotosho, 2025 General Legal Counsel of JCI Nigeria, who delivered an in-depth lecture on Parliamentary Procedure. He outlined the principles of motions, voting protocols, quorum requirements, and meeting decorum, while reinforcing the need for professionalism and orderliness during official gatherings.

“Understanding parliamentary procedure strengthens not only meetings but the organization’s integrity,” he emphasized.

Special remarks were delivered by JCIN Amb. Lanre Alawode and JCIN Amb. Hauwa Musa, who both encouraged officers to lead by example and embrace teamwork, responsibility, and the JCI values of impact, collaboration, and development.

The session concluded at 8:30 PM with a vote of thanks and closing remarks from President Akintunde, who commended all attendees for their commitment and pledged continuous support throughout the year.

The 2025 Officers’ Training School laid a solid foundation for the year’s leadership, setting the tone for effective service, collaboration, and excellence in JCI Bauchi City.

The former chief custodian of Bauchi’s finances was arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and monumental financial infractions allegedly running into billions of naira. This landmark case follows a formal petition lodged by the Bauchi State Government in August 2025, accusing Abubakar and his alleged accomplices of massive embezzlement of public funds and betrayal of public trust.  The matter was swiftly taken up by the Nigeria Police, culminating in today’s court session.
